When gotcha moments go bad

With Jim Cramer having recently been chewed into tiny pieces, digested and excreted by Jon Stewart, fans of CNBS may be looking for someone new to tell them how to live their financial lives. May we suggest Maria Bartiromo?

Yesterday she was tag-team interviewing NY Congressman Anthony Weiner, when she thought she had spotted a chance to really nail him:

Weiner: [In the United States of America] 40 percent of all tax dollars go to a public plan. Ask you parent your grandparent your neighbor whether they are satisfied with Medicare.. the quality of care is terrific. You get complete choice...

Bartiromo: [Shrilly] Well how come you don't use it? You don't have it. How come you don't have it?

Weiner: [Befuddled pause] Because I'm not 65. I would love it.

See it

Apparently, you no longer need to know the first thing about anything to sit behind a CNBC anchor desk.
